Apple Crisp (From Elsie Chatt)
 
Topping: 1 1/2 cups quick rolled oats--1 cup flour--1 cup packed brown sugar

Mix together with a fork.

Add: 1 stick butter or margarine (1/2 cup)--1 tsp. imitation vanilla

Make sure all of these ingredients are well mixed. Should be crumbly.

In a 9x12 inch buttered baking pan, slice 6 to 8 apples. Sprinkle with cinnamon and a dash of nutmeg; dot with butter and 1/4 to 1/2 cup white sugar (depends on tartness of apples used). Top with rolled oat mixture. Bake until golden brown in 325 - 350 degree oven for about 1 hour.
